Stefano Zito (/ stɛfænɒ zɪtɒ /; Italian: [ste.fa.nodˈʣiːto]; born 9 August 2004) is an Italian filmmaker. Having recently been selected for prestigious Italian festivals, such as the Messina Opera Film Festival and the Trapani Film Festival, he writes and directs both fiction films and documentaries. His films have already reached a global audience via YouTube, thanks to the channel run by his independent film production company Kinema. The short film Absence (2025) is based on a poem by his father, Mario Zito, winner of the 2025 "I Murazzi" literary prize, and explores how the pain of loss never fades, but how one learns to live with the wound. The documentary Outskirts (2026) is proving very successful, sparking much debate amongst the public, who are discussing about the world’s marginalised people.
