Erik Louw
Erik Louw is a Dutch filmmaker, editor and creative entrepreneur with a longstanding interest in storytelling, technology and the possibilities of moving images.
After the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, Erik began working in film and video production. Over the years, he has worked in various aspects of the filmmaking process, including editing, visual effects, directing and post-production. Editing has remained an important part of his work, where he enjoys finding the right balance between story, rhythm and image.
His film work includes the Dutch feature films *Stuk!* (2014), for which he worked on visual effects, and *Spaak* (2017), for which he edited the film. *Spaak* was selected for the Nederlands Film Festival.
Erik is the founder of BeeMotion, a Dutch video production company. Through BeeMotion, he works with companies and organisations to develop films and videos that help communicate their stories, ideas and ambitions. His work brings together traditional filmmaking practices and new technologies, always with attention to what best serves the production and its purpose.
Alongside filmmaking, Erik has a broad interest in technology and digital production. He enjoys exploring how new tools and developments can contribute to the creative process, while remaining grounded in the fundamentals of filmmaking.
